WC – Flu boredom and Chronic Illness Flair up

Welcome to the first ever WC (Weekly Checks). If you didn’t see my previous post, I have created a routine for my blog posts. Every Sunday I will do a weekly check in to share about everything that has been going on.

This week has felt like a long one even though I’ve slept for half of it! I caught the flu awhile ago which eventually turned into adult Croup and have been extremely poorly with it. Now, of course, it can never be one thing at a time for chronically ill people. So not only have I been sick, I’ve also been in an extreme amount of pain. Not only this, but it makes my mental health worse. Got to love having so many issues, don’t we? /j

(Note: if you ever see me use /j /hj /gen these are called tone tags! They help autistic people to understand the tone in text. /j = joking, /hj = half joking, /gen = genuine! There are many more than this and I’d be happy to do a blog post on them if anyone is interested).

Moving forward, I have been doing some cozy hobby things!

  1. I helped my mum restart her animal crossing island. She has now completed 2 5 star islands and wants to try and complete another! She transferred a few items that I was interested in to my island and is now on a quest for her 3rd 5 star island. Wish her luck everyone!
  2. Completed a few diamond arts. I have done 2 more cards and started a new kit of dinosaur keychains! These keychains are back to back of diamond gems so I’ve currently only done 1 side. I will definitely seal the side I’ve done before starting the other side.
  3. Did some gaming! I’ve been very busy on Animal Crossing New Horizons completing the new rooms in the hotel (love the new update!) as well as playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure!
  4. Worked on a few pen pal letters that I plan to post out tomorrow. I have 1 for a friend’s birthday, 1 is a valentines day letter (we did a random pairing on a group chat I’m in and we have to send valentines themed letters to the person we got paired with!) and finally a letter that I’ve written a reply to someone else’s.

Thankfully, I am feeling much better and no longer as ill as I was. It’s coming up to 3 weeks of when I first became unwell. I still have very little voice but in myself I don’t feel anywhere near as ill as I was! So that’s a huge positive!

What have you been up to this week?
